Patricia Ann “Patty†Barnes, 76, of New Castle passed away unexpectedly Saturday, February 6, 2010 in Henry County Hospital. She was born January 1, 1934 in New Castle, the daughter of the late Vincent and Erma Lucille (Meeks) Peters.
A 1951 graduate of New Castle High School, she was employed at Beall’s Clothing in New Castle for many years, and then owned and operated Patty’s Ladies Clothing in New Castle. Patty enjoyed traveling and flower gardening, and especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren’s sporting events.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 58 years, Phillip C. Barnes of New Castle; three children, Valerie (husband, Bruce) Trump of Knightstown, Vanessa (husband, Frank) Lee of New Palestine, and Todd (wife, Tracy) Barnes of Indianapolis; five grandchildren, Stephanie Lee and Derrick Lee, Lauren Trump, Emma Barnes and Katherine Barnes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vincent and Lucille Peters.
Services will be at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 50 East 91st Street, Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46240, or the Autism Society of Indiana, 4740 Kingsway Drive, Suite 7 Indianapolis, IN 46205.
