Patricia “Patty Kay” Bever, 73, of Carthage, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at Hancock Regional Hospital. She was born January 14, 1938 in Knightstown.. the daughter of Charles and Kathleen Jeanette (McNew) Kenley.
She was a 1956 graduate of Warren Central High School in Indianapolis and was secretary for Eli Lilly Company during and after high school. She was a secretary in the Health Sciences Department of Lamar University in Beaumont, TX, Oklahoma University School of Nursing, and for Allied Health at University of Colorado. She enjoyed reading novels and playing the piano.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years: Dwayne E. Bever of Carthage; mother: Kathleen Jeanette (McNew) Atkinson of Cumberland; five children: Lizabeth Franklin of Georgetown, TX, Robert Wright of Mammoth, UT, Susan (husband: Victor) Alonzi of Tulsa, OK, Dwayne Bever, Jr. of Hayden, ID and Natalie Kay (husband: Oscar) Martinez of Bastrop, TX; twelve grandchildren; siblings: David (wife: Cindy) Atkinson of Indianapolis, Harry (wife: Cheryl) Atkinson of Indianapolis, Roxeanne (husband: Patrick) Farley of Indianapolis, Jo (husband: Alberto) Belmont of Mexico; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father: Charles Robert Kenley; grandfather: Harry McNew.
