Patricia Ann (Wenzel) Crandall, age 79, went to her eternal rest on August 4, 2016, in San Diego, CA.She was born September 14, 1936, in New Rockford, ND, a daughter of the late George R. and Beulah M. (Durfee) Wenzel.
Patricia graduated from Lemmon High School, Lemmon, SD in 1954. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree at South Dakota State College in 1958, and in 1965 received a Master of Science in Education from Purdue University, where she served on the Home Economics Education Staff. Between 1958 and 1970, she taught home economics and early childhood development at Lemmon High School, Madison Central High School in Madison, SD, Mesa High School in Mesa, AZ, where she was chairman of the Home Economics Department, and Mesa Community College. Patricia often spoke fondly of her teaching days and her students.
Patricia married Glen E. Crandall on December 21, 1968. In 1970, the Crandalls moved to Yuma, AZ, where Glen became the owner of a Farmers Insurance Group agency.After working many years as an office assistant and agency manager for her husband, Patricia became a licensed insurance agent in 1994. Tricia was involved in the founding of the Yuma Chapter of Women's Aglow International, and for many years served as a local and area officer in both AZ and later in Jackson, TN, where the Crandalls moved in 1996 after retirement.
Patricia is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Crandall, son-in-law, Scott Mann, and granddaughters, Alexis and Lauren Mann, all of San Diego, CA, step-daughters Cherryll Crandall of Phoenix, AZ and Kristine Crandall of Tucson, AZ., and numerous other greatly loved family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Tricia was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 45 years, Glen E. Crandall (dec. 11-12-2014), sister, Beatrice Randel, and brothers, Lloyd Wenzel, Robert Wenzel, Leslie Wenzel and Donald Wenzel.
Graveside service will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel. Condolences and memories of Patricia may be expressed at
