Patricia Ann French

Patricia Ann French, 77, Fort Myers, Florida, formerly of Mt. Summit, died October 6, peacefully at her home. She was born October 4th, 1947, to Charles and Mildred (Sermersheim) Boss.

Pat was proceeded in death by their daughter, Tracy (French) Ogle; both of her parents; sister, Kay Myers, and both of her in-law parents, David and Mary Jane French; and brothers-in-law, Jay French and Richard Ratcliff.

 She is survived by her husband Ben; daughter, Kristi (Scott) Williams of Fishers; son, Chris (Callie Need) French of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Emily (David) Whitenack, Allison Sabo, Matthew Sabo, Ben Williams, Alex (Megan) Williams, Ryan Williams, Tony, Ruthie, and Andy (Abbie) Leeth; great-children, Chloe and Claire Whitenack. She also is survived by brother, John (Beverly) Boss, Sister, Marilou (John) Summers, Stepmother, Yvonne French, brother-in-law, Dale (Joyce) French, sisters-in-law, Linda Ratcliff and Connie (Ed) Smith.; special friends, Brenda Trevino and Libby Willie. Pat was born in Princeton Indiana and lived in Mt. Summit most of her adult married life.

 Pat not only loved her family deeply, but she also loved Henry County and especially Henry County Republican politics. Pat worked tirelessly to promote republicans in Henry County. More than politics, Pat loved serving her community and the citizens of Henry County. Pat was elected as Henry County Clerk, 4 terms. Henry County Treasurer, 2 terms, and Henry County Auditor, 2 terms and served as Prairie Township precinct committeeman for many years.

 Pat was an active member of Mt. Summit Christian Church. She also served on committees and boards of several organizations in her community. Pat was awarded Distinguished Hoosier by Governor Mitch Daniels, and Sagamore of the Wabash by Governor Eric Holcomb.

Pallbearers will be her son, Chris French, son-in-law, Scott Williams, and grandsons, Matthew Sabo, Ben, Alex and Ryan Williams.

 Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Hinsey Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor James Petty officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Summit Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Summit Christian Church, P.O. Box 310, Mt.
