Patricia Faye Rigney

Patricia “Patty” Faye Rigney, 72, of Mt. Summit passed away Monday, July 15, 2024 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. She was born April 6, 1952 in Covington, Kentucky to the late Floyd and Zella Clara (Burton) Jones.

Patty was a kind and caring lady who loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a 1970 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School. Patty was the life of the party and enjoyed making her friends smile and working puzzle books. She spent many miles on the back of her companion’s, George’s, motorcycle. Patty had a passion for working with children and had worked at Riley Elementary School and Blue River Valley Schools.

She is survived by her companion of 47 years, George Savage; a daughter Michelle “Toni” Rigney; fur grandbabies, Mavis and Johnny and several other family members.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Rigney and a brother, Rex Jones.

Per Patty’s wishes, there will be no public services held. Cremation services have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Memorial contributions may be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. You may express condolences or share a memory of Patty at www.hinsey-brown.com.
