Patrick Evan McWhorter

Patrick Evan McWhorter, age 53 passed away at IU Health Methodist Hospital on Friday, May 5, 2023. He was employed by New Castle Housing Authority for over 20 years. In his early years, Pat excelled at playing baseball from Little League and Babe Ruth to High School. Later in life he was an avid online sim racer and Sasquatch enthusiast. He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, football, watching BBQ competitions and using his smoker. He loved animals, listening to podcasts and Ghost.

Pat had a quick wit and great sense of humor. He was determined and never let anything stand in his way. He enjoyed many adventures and was proud of all he accomplished.

He is survived by Brandi, his wife of 18 years, his mother, Joyce McWhorter of New Castle; his siblings; Diana Kollmeyer of New Castle, Ben (Carrie) McWhorter of Indianapolis, and Vicky (Dave) Pryor of New Castle; his in-laws: Chuck and Tracy Worden of New Castle, Jarred (Jamie) Worden of Richmond, Kory (Mandii) Worden of New Castle, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ben McWhorter (2008), his brother, Scott McWhorter (1985), his nephew, Travis Pryor (2016), his nephew, Layne Worden (2015), and several grandparents, aunts, and uncles.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Pat to his favorite organization - Larry (Battson) “the Animal Guy” and Friends. Larry is a Wildlife Educator who visits the local schools all over the State of Indiana to entertain kids with all kinds of animals. Donations may be sent in c/o Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, 3406 S. Memorial Drive, New Castle, IN 47362. Envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.

In lieu of the traditional funeral services, Pat’s Celebration of Life will be on Friday, May 12, 2023, from 4-7 pm at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. This will be an informal gathering as Pat would have preferred. Condolences and memories of Pat may be shared at www.hinsey-brown.com .
