Paul R. Conyers, 70, of New Castle, passed away Tuesday, October 17th, at the Heritage House Convalescent Center following a short battle with cancer. Paul was born May 24, 1947 to Mildred Ewing (Jackson) and Henry Conyers.
Paul graduated from Sulphur Springs High School in 1965. He also served 6 years in the National Guard. Paul worked at Chrysler, Raintree Industries, and Dairy Queen where he was a supervisor. Paul was a faithful member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church since 1989, and loved his church family.
Left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 32 years, Joyce Young Conyers; a brother, Roger (Joyce Miller Conyers); one nephew, Brandon (Christina) Conyers; two nieces, Shelley Conyers and Amy (Ryan) Nunn; two great nieces, Nicole and Kora Conyers; sister-in-law, Linda (Phil) Huckeby. Also surviving is his beloved cat, Rosie, who he rescued in 2014, as well as several cousins and friends.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Clay Conyers; nephew, Brian Conyers; in-laws, Rev. Clarence and Gaynell Young.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2017at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Rev. Charles Dugger & Rev. Tony Piper officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Summit Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 – 8 p.m. on Friday, October 20th.
