Paul King

Paul King, 92, of Springport passed away Saturday, April 20, 2024. He was born March 5, 1932, in Shoopman, McCreary County, KY.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Christopher and Talitha King, his loving wife of 61 years, Nora Juanita King, 6 brothers, Dester King, Estel King, Chris Jr King, Dewitt King, Robert King, John King, 2 sisters, Maudia Whited and Mary Lou Parson, 3 sons, John Michael Partin, Guy Anthony "Tony" Partin, Roger Lee Partin.

He leaves behind 4 daughters and 1 son, Constance V. (Greg) Losh of Muncie, Paula D. Houser, Jamie E. King of Muncie, Tammy S. (Chip) Phillips, Warren "Jeff" King of Muncie; 12 grandchildren; 12 great children; 1 great great grandchild; 2 sisters, Zora Everett of Crossville, TN and Carol Parson of Clarksville, TN; 2 sisters-in-law, Frances Perkins of Muncie and Cathy Shoaf of Bloomington, and dear friends of Springport.

He retired from the American Water Works of Muncie, where he worked himself up from a laborer to supervisor. He also served our country in the US Army. He was a very hard worker. He helped many people with their vehicle, house repairs or helping his children build homes of their own. He shared everything he had if someone was in need. He loved the outdoors; be that hunting, fishing, gardening with his buddy, Pat Yapp of Springport, camping with kids to the great grandchildren all over the USA. Paul loved reading and watching westerns. He spent many hours reading the Bible and giving Bibles to new believers for their baptisms in his church, Bethel United Baptist Church in Muncie where he served as a Deacon. Paul also was a story teller and loved to talk with everyone at the post office especially the Postmasters over the years. He had many sayings and loved to share his faith. He knew a doctor can save your life. A lawyer can defend your life. A soldier can give you a peaceful life. But only God can give you an everlasting life. That is where Paul is today; walking the streets of Heaven.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 26, 2024 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Springport. Visitation will be on Thursday, April 25, 2024 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethel United Baptist Church Youth Ministry, 301 N.
