Paul M. Lawson, 62, of New Castle, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at his residence. He was born March 7, 1949 in New Castle a son of the late Clyde and Josie (Terry) Lawson.
Paul retired from Kroger in 2008 after 7 years of service. He was also a mechanic, loved to play guitar and enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by his wife: Brenda (Daffron) whom he married October 8, 1986; son: Paul (Kay) Lawson of New Castle; daughter: Amy (Chuck) Dyer of New Castle; 3 step children: Kimberly (Dave) Custer of Pendleton; Brian (Gina) Slavey of New Castle; Jason Slavey of South Bend; grandchildren: Brittney (Joe) Schroeder, Joni Lawson, Casey and Corey Dyer; 2 great grandchildren: Khloe Schroeder and Kingston Dyer; 10 step grandchildren; brothers: Roy (Evie) Lawson, Ricky Lawson (companion: Hazel), James Lawson, Stephen (Brenda) Lawson; sisters: Elizabeth Vanderpool, Dorothy Guinn, Lucy, Judy and Sherry Lawson; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister: Helen Hicks, 2 brothers: Sammy and Harold Lawson.
Services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Roger Hendricks officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery West Lawn Addition. Friends may call from 5-8 PM Friday, February 17.
