Paul C. Leeka

Paul C. Leeka, 78, of Mt. Summit passed away Saturday, October 15, 2022 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born January 28, 1944 in New Castle to the late Paul B. and Emma Jean (Smith) Leeka.

Paul was a 1962 graduate of Hagerstown High School and married the love of his life, Ginger, on December 13, 1963. He worked at Brooks Foods from 1978-1990 then went to work the state of Indiana from 1990 until his retirement in 2009. Paul loved his family and loved being with them. He enjoyed golfing, being outdoors, spending time on and around the water and hunting was one his favorite past times. He was a member of the Elks #484 and GWRRA for several years, touring the United States on two wheels, his beloved Honda Gold Wing. Paul loved spending summers at the Ohio River with friends and family but mainly going dancing with his love, Ginger.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ginger Leeka; sons, Paul D. (Roni) Leeka of Newville, Alabama, Richard (Donna) Leeka of Plainfield, Chad (Sharron) Leeka of Spiceland; grandchildren, Ryan, Tyler, Megan, Ariel, Sasha, Brittany, Brandi, Mike, Amanda and Annie; 12 great grandchildren; a sister, Jeanine (Dick) Carey of Hagerstown and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Marcia Powell.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 20, 2022 at Mt. Summit Christian Church with Pastor Ben Brandt officiating. Visitation will be from 11-1 p.m. on Thursday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Summit Christian Church or the Henry County YMCA. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle.
