Pearl Lorraine Williams, 91, formerly of Shirley, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at Community East Hospital. She was born December 11, 1925 in Spring Bluff, MO a daughter of Carrick and Bertha (Bates) Moss.
Lorraine was a member of Shirley Gospel Mission for the past 38 years. She was a former member of Shirley Church of the Nazarene where she served as missionary president. Prior to that she belonged to the Lawrence Church of the Nazarene where she invited soldiers home for meals. Lorraine loved gardening, cooking, canning and making peanut brittle. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. “Her children rise up and call her blessed.”
Lorraine is survived by five children, Bruce (Betty) Williams of Stuarts Draft, VA, Sherry (Jimmy) Bender of Shelbyville, TN, Rick (Nancy) Williams of Cumberland, IN, Dawn (Larry) Bennett of Monticello, KY, and Brooke (Terry) Maggard of Summerville, SC; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; two sisters, Nadine O’Dell of Cumberland and Shirley Harris of MO; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold W. Williams in 2004; three sons, Douglas, Gregory and Lance Williams; siblings, Reba Sanders, Leonard Lambert, Robert Moss, Irene Howard, Alene Trask, Elloise Clark, Mary Ellen Brockman and Delano Moss.
Services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, November 3, 2017 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Reverend Charles Riggs officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens.
