Peggy J. Armstrong, 76, of New Castle, passed away Sunday, October 14, 2012 at the Waters of New Castle. She was born July 16, 1936 in Hagerstown the daughter of the late Cleo (Baldwin) Watt.
Peggy retired from AT&T in 1987 following 30 years of service. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was Past Matron of the Greensboro Chapter of OES. Peggy enjoyed working in her flower garden and cleaning house. Christmas was her favorite time of the year. She loved to shop and decorate the house. To her, Christmas was love. Peggy loved her family very much especially her grandchildren and over the past couple years had the pleasure of enjoying her two great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years: Richard Armstrong of New Castle; her son: Duke Dudley of Spiceland; her daughter: Kim Blanch of Muncie; grandchildren: Bryce Dudley, Dylan Dudley, Brandy Blanch and Mary Ann Blanch; great grandchildren: Michael Haines and Bentley Blanch; a brother: David (wife, Betty) Watt of Alexandria; a sister: Nancy Mathews of FL.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be at 1:00 PM Thursday, October 18, 2012 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service with Reverend Jack Hannum officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery West Lawn Addition. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Wednesday with an Order of Eastern Star Service beginning at 7:30 PM.
