Peggy L. (Mastin) Lee, 69 of New Castle passed away Saturday, April 12, 2025 at the Waters of New Castle. She was born July 21st, 1955 in Henry County to the late Jerry F. and Margaret (Hungerford) Mastin.
Peggy was employed at the New Castle State Hospital and Modernfold Corporation. She attended Walter P. Chrysler High School, where she was a member of the band and also the New Castle Majorettes. A devout Christian, Peggy was raised in Foursquare Church in New Castle. She enjoyed handcrafts and gardening. The simplest pleasures in life brought joy to Peggy. She loved her children and grandchildren fiercely. One of her greatest pleasures was to put a smile on their face. Peggy had the silliest sense of humor and could make anyone smile.
Peggy was devoted to her children and grandchildren and is survived by two sons, Jeremy R. (Cheryl) Lee and Jacob W. (Sarah) Lee; three grandchildren, Christian Lee, Quentin Lee and Jocelyn Paige Lee; two great grandchildren, Colsen Parisey and Callahan Parisey; siblings, Melody J. Mastin, Jerry D. (Aleesa) Mastin and James A. Mastin; aunts Norma Dishman (who was also her caregiver), Vonda Ballinger, Elsie, Alice and Rose Mastin; and several cousins including her caregivers Karen Pennycuff and Melinda Dishman; nieces and nephews, Jared and Joshua Mastin, Maranda (Logan) Zimmerman, Jonathan (Katrina) Mastin, Kevin (Sarah) Mastin and Tresa (Dave) Matthews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-mother, Marlene J. Mastin, a grandson, Gavin Lee; an aunt, Gail Mastin; her grandparents Herb and Margie Mastin, Delmer and Nita Butler, Vaughn and Frances Hungerford and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Henry Community Health, the Waters of New Castle and Southern Care Hospice for their excellent care of Peggy.
