Penny Jo Williams

Penny Jo Williams, 55, of New Castle, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, May 26, 2013 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born January 16, 1958, a daughter of the late Charles and Jo Ann (Troxell) Williams.

A 1976 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School, she was presently employed by New Castle City Transit System. Known as “Aunt Penny” to many, she was well-known in the community, because she was a friendly and outgoing bus driver, who was always willing to help anyone in need. She was a member of Cornerstone Christian Fellowship in Richmond, and Open Arms Church in New Castle. A lover of antiques and angels, Penny enjoyed attending sales and spending time with family and friends.

An avid motorcyclist, Penny especially enjoyed riding in benefit rides. Penny was due to receive a Community Service Award, given to her by the City of New Castle. This was to take place at Bible Holiness Church in New Castle, and be presented by Mayor Greg York. This award will be presented posthumously at her funeral service.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Todd “T.J.” Williams, of Richmond; a sister, Debbie (Steve) Adorni of Spring Hill, FL; special nephews, Chad (Aly) Williams of Markleville, Shane Williams of Anderson, Brian Adorni of Spring Hill, FL; special cousins, Tim Dinkins and Aria Hawk, both of New Castle; special friends, Kim and Rusty Rhodes and family of New Castle, Sharon and John Dabney and family of New Castle; several aunts and uncles.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Charlie “Bubby” Williams; a very special cousin, Tracy Hawk; and several other family members.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May30, 2013 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service with Pastors Rick White and Paul Davis officiating. Cremation will follow services. There will be a procession to the crematory, in which Penny will take her “last ride” in a motorcycle hearse. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Henry County Cancer Society, address, or the Hope House, 275 Grove Rd., Richmond, IN 47374.
