Perry Shelvy Frost

Perry Shelvy Frost, 87, of New Castle passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2024 at Henry Community Health. He was born December 9, 1937 in Gap Creek, Kentucky to the late Lafe and Winnie “Mammie” (Piercey) Frost.

Perry was a graduate of New Lisbon High School where he was the valedictorian. He worked as a brick mason for over 60 years all around Henry and surrounding counties. Perry was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and National Guard. He was a proud member of the New Castle American Legion and Moose Lodge. Perry was an avid card player, golfer and loved watching any sport. If you knew Perry, you knew he was a storyteller and would capture an audience with his infectious, unique laugh. More than anything, Perry loved spending time with his family and was a proud husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed. 

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 64 years, Marguerite “Garnet” Frost; daughters, Tammie Frost-Cobb, Tonya Frost-Bell (Danny Clayborn), Jodie Frost-Rybolt; daughter-in-law, Nancy Frost; grandchildren, Heather Frost, Katie (Blake) Coots, Abbey Frost, Dustin Bell, Ashley (Derreck) Reagan, Brandon Bell, Chelsie Mann, Michael Rybolt, Jennifer May and Michael Showalter; several special great grandchildren; siblings, Margurite Clark, Dorothy Sutton and Jean Poore and many, many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Perry ”Weasel” Frost; son-in-law, Troy Rybolt; granddaughters, Rachel Bell and Stephanie Buck; great granddaughter, Kienan Showalter; siblings, Rex, Dillen and Hamilton “Hoo Do” Frost, Lee Massengale, Audra Lowe, Dean Stinson and Avadot George; father and mother-in-law, Rev. Hubert and Vada Roseberry.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 5, 2025 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Danny Douglas officiating. Burial will follow at New Lisbon Cemetery.
