Pete Schetgen

Pete Schetgen, age 83, of New Castle, passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at AMG Specialty Hospital in Muncie following an extended illness. He was born March 17, 1929 in Brookville, Indiana to the late Anthony L. and May (Wesling) Schetgen.

He was a graduate of New Castle High School and was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean Conflict. He retired from Borg Warner in Muncie. He enjoyed reading, the outside and sitting in the sun. Pete especially enjoyed spending time with his great grandchildren.

Survivors include his children, John (wife, Pam) Schetgen of Millville, Joseph (wife, Rhonda) Schetgen of New Castle, Jennifer (husband, Gary) Fallon of New Castle and Lauree Schetgen of Middletown; grandchildren, Jacob (wife, Brooke) Schetgen of Maryland, Samantha (husband, John) Pritchett of Greenfield, Michael Schetgen of New Castle, Diane (husband, Brian) Denney of New Castle and Ashley (husband, Ryan) Luellen of New Castle; great grandchildren, Alexis, Jasmine, Machenzie, Gavin, Daniel, Olivia, Otis and Gracie; sister, Mary Ann Trulley of Chicago; brother, James (wife, Doris) Schetgen of New Castle.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, MaryAnn Schetgen; two brothers and three sisters.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 31, 2012 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Jack Hannum officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 1-2 p.m. Friday, August 31, 2012 at the funeral home. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign by an active contingent of the United States Army.
