Don L. “Dolly” Dalton, 89, a resident of New Castle passed away Saturday, December 7, 2024 at his home. He was born February 20, 1935 in Albany, Kentucky to the late Robert and Wilma (Cross) Dalton.
Don retired from Avesta Sheffield (formerly Ingersoll Steel) in 2000 after over 30 years of service. He had also done work for Charlie McClain, Herb Ferrell and Keith Broyles as well as working at Ace Hardware in New Castle. Don was a former member of the Greensboro Masonic Lodge and attended Foursquare Church in New Castle. He was an avid fisherman and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandson.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years: Wilma “Nadine” Dalton, whom he married February 14, 1954; a daughter: Janice (David) Ford of New Castle; sister: Frances Day of California; brother: Everett (Dolly) Dalton of Kentucky; grandson: Josh (Kristin) Owens of New Castle; three great-granddaughters: Olivia, Mallory and Emma Owens; several special friends and his beloved dog, Bailey.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Howard, Earl and Edward Dalton.
Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastors Jim Becker and Larry Brown officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Wednesday.
