Philip E. “Phil” Ahrendt, age 60, of Knightstown, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, April 15, 2012 in Hancock Regional Hospital. He was born January 15, 1952 in Berea, OH, a son of the late Richard Paul and Virginia Clara (Valley) Ahrendt.
Presently employed at Cambria in Mt. Comfort, Phil was a very loyal and hard-working family man. He enjoyed hunting, but his only true hobby was spending time with his family, to whom he was most dedicated.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Lucy Ahrendt of Knightstown, whom he married May 25, 1972; two sons, Philip E. Ahrendt Jr. (Angel Threet Ahrendt), and Daniel Paul Ahrendt Sr., both of Knightstown; six grandchildren, Maggie Rae Threet, Daniel Paul Ahrendt Jr., Luci Jae Ahrendt, Ariel Aries McDaniel, Sophie Kae Ahrendt, and Berea Ann Ahrendt; a sister, Vicki (Dave) DesRuisseaux of Mesa, AZ; a niece, Jessica Avery of Phoenix, AZ; a brother, Richard (Jule Drown) Ahrendt of Tucson, AZ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Paul and Virginia Clara (Valley) Ahrendt.
Services will be at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Pastor Danny Shelton officiating. Friends may call from 5:30 p.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home. At Phil’s request, casual dress is encouraged.
