Phillip K. “Phil” Brumley, 54, a resident of Hagerstown passed away Friday, January 12, 2018 at his home. He was born September 21, 1963 in Monticello, Kentucky.
A 1982 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School, Phil had been employed at Indiana Carpenters in Indianapolis as a millwright engineer. He had previously worked at New Castle Engineering. Phil had been a member of the New Castle Moose Lodge and attended Open Arms Church as well as Cross Roads Church in New Castle. His hobbies included fishing, hunting and raising cattle. He also enjoyed water skiing, boating and riding his Harley.
Survivors include his mother: Mary (Jones) Brumley of Hagerstown; his father: Billy Brumley of Florida along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Phil was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Clarence and India Jones and his paternal grandparents: Roy and Lura Brumley; also, several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of life for Phil will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Pastors Paul Davis, Rick Davis, and Danny Douglas will be officiating along with Fran Bullock and Sandy Jones. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 16 at the funeral home. Phil will then be taken to Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home in Monticello. Interment will be in Elk Springs Cemetery in Monticello. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association.
