Phyllis K. Hedrick

Phyllis K. (Jordan) Hedrick, 82, of Shirley, Indiana went to be with the Lord at her home on Sunday, September 22, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 26, 1942 in Shirley to the late Francis and Violet (Jackson) Jordan. 

Phyllis was a 1960 graduate of Knightstown High School. She was a devoted Christian and a lifelong member of the Shirley Christian Church. She greatly enjoyed the time she spent with her church family. However, her family was her life. She took great pride in her family and she cherished the time she spent with them. Phyllis had an excellent work ethic and took great pride in her work. For eight years she worked for Granny’s Antiques and Catering. She then was able to work for the town of Shirley as a Utility Clerk for twenty-three years until her retirement. 

She is survived by children, Richie (Jenny) Hedrick of North Carolina, Doug (Kerri) Hedrick of Knightstown, John (Angela) Hedrick of Shirley, and Nicole (Melvin) Alexander of Shirley; ten grandchildren, Rachel, Rebecca, Tristan, Jordan, Zachery, Violet, Jeffery, Haley, Gracin, and Aiden; and six great grandchildren. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved brother, Gene Jordan; and two great grandchildren. 

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel. A funeral service will follow on Thursday, September, 26, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Ron White will be officiating. Burial will follow at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson, Indiana.
