Ralph D. “Bud†Henderson, 82, of Carthage passed away Thursday, November 20, 2008 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Indianapolis following an extended illness. He was born April 27, 1926 in Olive Hill, Kentucky the son of Louis and Grace (Howard) Henderson.
He was a life long resident of Carthage and a founding member of the Carthage Volunteer Fire Department where he served as Carthage Fire Chief several times. He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church of Rushville, enjoyed coin collecting and fishing. He was a loving husband and a great father.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years: Rose (Brown) Henderson of Carthage; children: Wanda Henderson of Carthage; Ralph (wife: Anita) Henderson of Morristown; Joyce Henderson of Carthage; Warren (wife: Julie) Henderson of Fishers; John Henderson of Greenfield; grandchildren: Mandy (husband: Rusty) Locker of Kennard; Phillip, Peter, and Patrick Henderson all of Fishers; Jesse Henderson of Greenfield; four great grandchildren: Russell, Andy, Justin, and Shelby Locker; five brothers and two sisters.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter: Jennifer Henderson in 1974; a daughter-in-law: Debbie Henderson in 2004; and four sisters.
