Ralph E. Williams, age 86, of Dunreith, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015 at Henry County Hospital. He was born July 31, 1928 in New Castle, Indiana to the late Harry and Anna (Asbury) Williams.
A 1946 graduate of Spiceland High School, he was a member of Spiceland United Methodist Church. He drove a school bus for South Henry School Corporation for more than 25 years. Ralph owned and operated several service stations in Spiceland and Dunreith. He had also worked for Ingersol, Perfect Circle, Ford Motor Company in Indianapolis and Crowe Implement in New Castle. He loved gardening, fishing, bowling and especially IU basketball. He was a member of the Lions Club in Spiceland and a former member of Odd Fellows in Dunreith.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Ruth E. Williams of Dunreith; daughter, Brenda (Ron) Hall of Greenfield; son, Tony R. (Pamela) Williams of Spiceland; six grandchildren, Todd (Kasey) Williams of Lafayette, Tim Williams of Durango, Colorado, Jeremy (Lisa) Hall of New Castle, Andrew (Kristi) Williams of Anderson, Carrie Hall of Greenfield, and Anna (John) Huang of Greenfield; five great grandchildren, Mallery, Macy, Ellie, Lily and Brady; sister, Ruth Hunt of Dunreith; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Homer Williams.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverends Carol Wiley and Gene Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in Circle Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
