Ray Bell, 61, of New Castle, passed away unexpectedly Friday, July 8, 2011, due to injuries sustained in an auto accident. He was born October 9, 1949 in Monticello, KY, a son of the late Carlos and Ruby (Springer) Bell.
An avid outdoorsman, Ray loved life, family and friends to the fullest. He was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in Korea with the U.S. Army, and always displayed his pride in his country and service to it. Ray had worked at Lift-A-Loft, Grede Foundry, and had spent the last 16 years at Intat Precision as a maintenance man where he enjoyed many friends.
Ray married Bobbie (Mason) on December 5, 1969, who survives after 41 years of marriage. Ray and Bobbie shared all things in life. An occasional ride through the country, or visiting family was a common pastime. Their love of family and friends always made their home a place enjoyed by many.
In addition to his wife, Bobbie, Ray leaves to cherish his memory, his stepmother, Eddriss Bell, brothers, Bobby Bell, Jim (wife, Debbie) Bell; sisters, Linda (husband, Gene) Myers and Fay Jessee, all of Henry County; his children, Jodi (husband, Kent) Moore, Carla Hill (special friend, Julie Cloyd), Jimmy (wife, Kara) Bell of McCordsville, Terry (wife, Jody) Bell; thirteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Rays family and friends were his most prized accomplishments in life, and he will be missed by many.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Martha Curry.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 15, 2011 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Alan Polston officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens.
