Raymond S. Jones

Raymond S. (Scrip) Jones, 81, of New Castle, passed away Monday, February 28, 2011 at the Water of New Castle. He was born January 19, 1930 in Clinton County, KY the son of the late Roosevelt and Rubena (Bell) Jones.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church where he served as an usher. He retired from Guide Lamp Division of General Motors in 1985 after 30 years of service.
He is survived by one son: James Alan Jones of Abilene, TX; one brother: Floyd Jones of New Castle; five sisters: Marie Winchester of New Castle, Mae (husband: Floyd) Squires of Avon Park , FL, Barbara Sewell-Thrasher and Bonnie Ragan both of New Castle and Bobbie Damren of Green Cove Springs, FL; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years: Loretta Roberts Jones and two sisters.
Services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 5, 2011 at First Assembly of God in New Castle with Reverend Stephen Gallaway officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 4-7 PM Friday and Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be given to the Shepherd’s Door food pantry c/o First Assembly of God 3600 S. Memorial Drive New Castle, IN 47362.
