Raymond L Rees

Raymond L. Rees, 70, of New Castle, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2013 in Stonebrooke Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness. He was born August 25, 1942 in New Castle, a son of the late Glen and Beatrice (Wehrly) Rees.

A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Ray lived in Kansas City, Missouri for many years, where he worked for Ford Motor Company. After moving back to New Castle, he worked at Royal in New Castle and later worked in the construction field in this area.
An avid motorcyclist, he enjoyed riding with his family and friends.

Survivors include two children, Kathy Rees and Doug Rees, both of Kansas City, MO; five nephews, Martin L. (Mitzi J) Rees of New Castle, Michael L. Rees of Muncie, James E. (Gemma) Rees of New Castle, Jeffrey L. (Marsha) Rees of TN, and David A. (Stephanie) Rees of New Castle; fourteen great nieces and nephews, and one great great niece; his former wife and great friend, Judy Lowe of New Castle, and her children, Tina Y. Lowe and Anthony W. Lowe; a sister in law, Betty J. Rees of New Castle.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Byron Lee Rees.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2013 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Jeff Jaco officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition.
