Richard E. “Pete” Armstrong, 90, of New Castle passes away Thursday, November 30, 2017 at his residence. He was born October 26, 1927 in New Castle to the late Kenneth and Hazel (Harvey) Armstrong.
He retired from Borg Warner Corp., Muncie in 1986 after 39 years of service. Pete is a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during WWII. He was a member of the Greensboro Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite of Indianapolis and Murat Shrine.
He is survived by his children, Kim Blanch of Muncie, Duke (Susie) Dudley of Spiceland; four grandchildren, Bryce and Dylan Dudley, Brandy Blanch and Mary Ann Blanch (fiancé, Eric Meade); great grandchildren: Michael Haines and Bentley Blanch, sister, Patricia Bradford of Knightstown.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Peggy Armstrong in 2012.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 4, 2017 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition.
