Richard E. Lamb, 74, of Knightstown, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at Hancock Regional Hospital. He was born December 19, 1950 in New Castle, the son of Roy and Loretta (McConnell) Lamb.
Richard retired as an over the road truck driver, hauling grain for Bunge Corp. He previously worked at Myers Furniture and Appliances in New Castle for 12 years. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard where he served for 7 years. Richard enjoyed riding his Harley-Davison motorcycle and fishing. He was a “fixer” and also enjoyed woodworking. Richard will be remembered as a good husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Ellie Lamb of Knightstown; son, Chad Lamb of Marion; eight grandchildren; one great grandson; a brother, Robert (Beth) Lamb of New Castle; cousin and riding buddy, Johnny Pierce of Lewisville and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jeremy Frailey; daughter, Alicia Lamb; step-daughter, Tosha Perry; two sisters, Nena Pope and Nila Lamb.
Services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, January 10, 2025 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel with Rick Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery where Military rites will be conducted by the Knightstown American Legion. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until time of the service on Friday.
