Rick Lane Ball

Rick Lane Ball, 59, of New Castle passed away Thursday, December 1, 2016 at The Waters of New Castle, following an extended illness and courageous battle with cancer. He was born July 24, 1957 in New Castle, Indiana, a son of Raymond Ball and Kathyren (West) England.

Rick loved Harley Davidson Motorcycles, was an avid Colts fan, and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include his dearly beloved wife of 32 years and caregiver, Kim Ball of New Castle; two children, Jessica Lane Ball (companion: Brandon Crain) and Rick “Scooter” Ball, both of New Castle; his mother, Kathyren England; granddaughter, Brynnlee; a sister, Jean (David) Matlock of Cincinnati, OH; several nieces & nephews; two very special nieces, Kendra Kennedy of New Castle and Donyell (Chris) Morgan of Lovington, Illinois; a special friend, Dustin McDaniel of New Castle; sister-in-laws, Alicia (Bob) Becker of New Castle, Janie E. (Tom) Herman of Indianapolis and Mary Ann (Don) Dishman of New Castle.

In addition to his father, Raymond Ball; he was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Ball; his mother and father-in-law, Hillard and Marcella Bell; and a brother-in-law, Hollis Bell.

Services will be 1:00 PM Monday, December 5, 2016 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Matt Daffron officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition. Friends may call from 2-6 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
