Rick Grider, 58, of Spiceland passed away on Sunday, July 7th, 2024. He was born August 18th, 1965 in New Castle, Indiana. Rick is the son of the late Mildred Sue (Hicks) Grider, and Johnnie Lee Grider.

 Rick was a 1984 Graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School. He was employed with SES Environmental, based out of Fort Wayne, as a Field Operations Specialist. He was employed with SES for 19 years. He also enjoyed his time as a bartender at the Ice House in New Castle, he loved serving and socializing with friends and family while he worked.

 Rick loved a variety of music. You could always catch him listening, singing, or playing his guitar as the sun set on his deck. Rick would always make time to join his friends on the golf course. Most of all he loved spending time with his friends and family, and always waiting for the chance to get back to the "healing waters" of Dale Hollow Lake.

 Rick is survived by his wife, Heidi Grider, of 33 years. His son Blaine Grider (Spouse Hanna Grider) of New Castle, His daughter Gwyneth Ricks (Spouse Nathaniel Ricks) of Spiceland, His daughter Kirsten Grider of South Carolina, Brother Johnnie Ray Grider of Terre Haute, Nephew Jeremiah Ray Grider, and nieces Angie and Alicia.

 Rick was loved by many, and left an impact on everyone he met. He will be dearly missed by all of them. Remember all the good times and laughs you shared with this amazing man.

 Rock stars like him will always be remembered.
