Fortville, IN

Rick Jordan of Greenfield, Indiana, passed away on August 17, 2024, at the age of 70 in Fortville, Indiana. He was born October 12, 1953 in Greenfield, Indiana. A 1972 graduate of Eastern Hancock High School, Rick was a respected figure in the local automotive industry, where he managed several auto repair shops. He also owned an auto repair and fabrication shop, American Racing Components. After spending 19 years in Florida, where he retired from Florida Hospital Tampa, Rick returned to his home state to be closer to his beloved family.

A devoted father and grandfather, Rick's fervent love for automobiles was evident in the hot rods and muscle cars he meticulously crafted over the years. His expertise extended to his role as a handgun safety instructor and as a moderator for online forums dedicated to Corvettes and firearms, sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm generously. Beyond his automotive and 2nd amendment interests, Rick valued the time he spent with family and friends, enjoying karaoke, car shows, and the simple pleasure of a Saturday evening watching Svengoolie with loved ones. With a giving spirit, he touched the lives of many through acts of kindness, including donating bicycles to local children during the Christmas season.

Rick is mourned by his loving family: his sisters, Gwen Strough (Dick Strough) and Cheryl McIntosh (Ron McIntosh); his daughter, Charity Trent; his son, Seth Jordan; and his cherished grandchildren, Kylan, Cora, and Liam Trent. He joins his parents, Glen and Vivian Jordan, in eternal rest.

In respect to Rick's preferences, there will be no public funeral or viewing. A private celebration of life will be organized at a later date. Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in Knightstown, IN, is providing support to the family during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Rick's memory can be made to the Shirley Fire Department, with the funds directed to the "bikes for kids" initiative, a cause close to Rick's heart. Contributions can be sent to:
