Rita M. Beavers, 93, of Spiceland passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2024. She was born January 22, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan to the late William and Julia (O'Hare) Varty.
A longtime member of St. Anne Catholic Church, Rita enjoyed bird watching and had a particular fondness for bluebirds and hummingbirds. She also enjoyed gardening and painting and cherished spending time with her family. She loved being at home and greatly enjoyed family reunions.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Karen (Tony) Cox of Springport; grandchildren, Kyle Cox, Caitlin (Will) Bruin, Ashley Lynch and Chelsea Lynch; great-grandchildren, Liam, Coen and Grey Bruin, Kayleigh and Ellie Cox as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lee Beavers; daughter, Linda Lynch; and six brothers and five sisters.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Rita's niece, Becky Beavers for helping look after her.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at St. Anne Catholic Church with Father John Hall officiating. Burial will be in St. Anne Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until time of the service at the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle.
