Robert C. Huth

Robert C. Huth, age 81, of New Castle, passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Glen Oaks Health Campus after a brief illness. He was born April 12, 1929 in Batesville, Indiana to the late Henry and Thelma (Kreinop) Huth.

He retired from Westinghouse/ABB in Muncie in 1989. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1946-1952 as Corporal and was a life member of the Second Marine Division Association. Robert was also a member of the Westinghouse/ABB Sympathy Club. Robert was a life member of the Marine Corps Association and a charter supporter of the National Museum at the Marine Corps and Heritage Center. He was a member of the American Legion.

Survivors include four children, Robin (husband, Michael) Schlehuser, Todd (wife, Dana) Huth, and Callie Klein all of New Castle and Kipp Huth of Albany, IN; grandchildren, Sara (husband, Chris) Dalton of Henderson, NV, Emily Schlehuser of New Castle, Alex and Taylor Huth of New Castle, Adam Huth of Muncie, Aaron and Austin Huth of Albany,IN, Jessica (husband, Andrew) Goodpaster of New Castle and Matthew Klein of New Castle; a great granddaughter, Makenna Goodpaster; brother, Charlie Huth and a sister, Dorothy Moore both of Daytona Beach, FL; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Geneva Fulton of New Castle; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janet; and two brothers, Henry Huth, Jr. and Ed Huth.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Eric Hickman officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Marine Honor Guard. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday, December 27, 2010 at the funeral home.
