Robert Rogers

Robert James Rogers, 65, of New Castle, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2010 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born June 3, 1944 in Terre Haute the son of Delbert and Thelma (Myrick) Rogers.

A veteran of the U. S. Army, he was also a professional Boy Scout. He owned Nettle Creek Computers in New Castle and has also sold insurance for Commonwealth. He was formerly employed at Radio Shack. He was a member of the Sertoma Club, Boy Scouts of America and Henry County Special Olympics. He loved computers, fishing and remote control airplanes.

To cherish his memory, he leaves his wife, June Ann (Scott) Rogers, whom he married October 18, 1969; a daughter: Annechelle Rogers of New Castle; a son: Robert C. (wife: Crystal) Rogers of Indianapolis; four grandchildren: Victor Mukes, Alexandria Rogers, Sarah Rogers and Samuel Rogers; a brother: Richard (wife: Roxanne) Wagner of FL; several nieces and nephews.

Service will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 20, 2010 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will be held at 12 noon Sunday in Hickory Grove Cemetery in Delphi, IN. Friends may call from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Boy Scout Troop #465, care of Arthur McKnight, 1324 Circle Street, New Castle Indiana, 47362, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
