Roberta Jean Estell

Roberta Jean Estell, 88, of New Castle passed away Friday, August 2, 2024 at her residence. She was born on November 8, 1935 in Muncie, Indiana to the late Vere O. and Pauline (Wilhelm) West.

She was a graduate of Center High School in Muncie. She graduated from Cosmetology School and was a beautician for many years. She was also employed by Hills Department Store as a Department Head for 10 years. Roberta was a member of Buck Creek Church of the Brethren. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family, she had a great sense of humor as well.

She is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Dudley, Terri Nicholas, Debbie Sharp and Nancy Kenny; grandchildren, Leslee Brown, Kimmie (husband, Steve) Gauck, Matt Carnes, Brandi Carnes, Alex Carnes, Jeremy (wife, Margo) Sharp, Ashley (husband, Garrett) Bratdmueller, Claude Kenny and Kyle Kenny; step granddaughter, Karen (husband, Rob) Modlin;16 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; special cousin, Mary Sheets; special life friends, Wilma Friedline, Levenia Wise, Peggy Edwards and Rita Johnson and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James R. Estell and twin brothers at birth.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 8, 2024 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. with the service starting at 2:00 p.m. Private family burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. You may express condolences or share a memory of Roberta at www.hinsey-brown.com.
