Rodney J. Spurlock

Rodney J. Spurlock, 64, of New Castle passed away Monday, October 17, 2022 at I.U. Health Ball Memorial in Muncie. He was born July 20, 1958 in New Castle, Indiana, a son of the late Ewell and Dixie (Neal) Spurlock.
A self employed contractor, he built and remodeled many homes in the New Castle area. Rodney was affiliated with the New Castle Girls Youth Softball League where he had previously served as president. He had formerly attended Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church and enjoyed playing baseball and basketball, as well as watching NASCAR and I.U. Basketball.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Claudia (Worden) Spurlock; children, Jaclyn (Jeffrey) Rubin of Noblesville, Megan (Brett) DeVault of Mt. Vernon and Timothy (Erica) Spurlock of New Castle; eight grandchildren, Ethan, Eva, Zoey, Cole, Sophia, Reis, Vivian and Marcella; five siblings, Tom Spurlock of Muncie, Barbara (Perry) Neal of Springport, Jeff (Kathy) Spurlock of Sullivan, Janie (Bob) Thompson of Tennessee and Rachel Price of Sharpsville, Indiana; and several nieces & nephews.
In addition to his parents, Rodney was preceded in death by a brother, Rex Spurlock.
