Romaine "Slim" Selmeyer, age 69, of Sulphur Springs passed away Saturday, July 25, 2009 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born June 24, 1940 in Ohio County, Indiana to the late Ervin and Norma (Hueserman) Selmeyer.
Slim retired from Chrysler Corporation following 30 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air force and served from 1958 to 1962. He was an avid golfer and especially enjoyed playing the early morning golf game at the Legion Golf Course with his buddies.
Survivors include his wife of 21 years: Dianna (Hedrick) Selmeyer of Sulphur Springs; two daughters: Tina (husband: Tim) Humphries of Sadieville, KY; Mollie (husband: Eric) Troop of Indianapolis; two grandchildren: Jordan and Olivia Humphries; three brothers: Dewayne (wife: Ruth) Selmeyer of Ross, OH; Roger (wife: Carol) Selmeyer of Markleville; Larry Selmeyer of Greendale, IN; two nephews and one niece.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Rev. Jack Hannum officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at the funeral home.
