Ronald DeWayne Baker, age 53, of New Castle, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2012 at The Waters of New Castle. He was born September 8, 1958 in New Castle to the late Charles Edward and Joyce (Hoopingarner) Baker.
Ronald was an avid sports fan and had a canny ability to remember sports statistics and trades. Ronald also loved to read, watch movies and antiquing. He loved his daughter and family very much.
Survivors include his daughter: Melissa (fiance, John Illig) Shelton of New Castle; grandchildren: Austin, Haley and Madison of New Castle; siblings: Charles R. (wife, Rose) Baker of Lafayette; Timothy Allen (wife, Debbie) Baker of Rockford, IL; Lori A (husband, Bob) Penticuff of Anderson; Jonathan D. (wife, Brenda) Baker of Noblesville; and Jamie S. (wife, Angela) Baker of Lafayette.
He was preceded in death by parents.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, July 20, 2012 at the Church of Christ, 423 South 11 St. New Castle, with Rev. Paul Davis officiating. A meal of remembrance will follow for family and close friends. Local services have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service. Memorial contributions may be given to the Ronald DeWayne Baker Fund.
