Ronald “Gene” Catron, 75, of New Castle, Indiana, passed away on April 17, 2025.
Born on February 13, 1950, in New Castle, he proudly served his country in the United States Army. After his military service, he began a long and dedicated career as a plant electrician at the Chrysler plant in New Castle, retiring prior to its closure.
Gene was a true tinkerer at heart. He had a deep love for all things electrical, and whether it was working on computers or fixing gadgets, he was always up for the challenge. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Catron; two sons, Tom Catron (wife Angie) of Burleson, TX, Eric Catron (wife Katie) of Springtown, TX and daughter Ciara Carnes of New Castle, IN; step children Michelle Trieschman (husband Matt) and Angela Hinton, both of New Castle, IN and Phil Buckler (wife Jessica) of Crawfordsville, IN; and his four siblings: Sam Taylor (wife Sue Kay) of New Lisbon, IN; Connie Blair (husband John), Jim Catron, and Sheila Hopkins (husband Terry), all of New Castle, IN. Gene also leaves behind several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Pollie Catron.
Gene will be remembered for his quiet strength, his hands-on talents, and the love he shared with his family and friends.
