Ronald Gross, 88, of New Castle passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at Stonebrook Rehabilitation Center in New Castle. He was born January 22, 1937 in Booneville, Kentucky the son of Clarence and Hattie (Anderson) Gross.
Ronald was a timber buyer, sawmill operator and he sold timber all over the world. He joined the Carthage Lodge in 1978 and when it closed he moved his membership to Lewisville Masonic Lodge #72. He enjoyed NASCAR, collecting guns and coins, and was a diehard Ford guy. Ronald enjoyed traveling out west with his wife, loved his dog, Precious, and country music.
He is survived by two sons, Tom (Diana) Gross and Mike (Cindy) Gross; grandchildren, Brandy (Chris) Decker, Michael Gross Jr., Nicholas Scott (Chrissa) Gross, Ryan (Emily) Gross, and Kyle (Natalie) Gross; great grandchildren, Hayden (Abbie) Decker, Lonnie Gross, Lillie (Damien) Hyde, Ruby Gross, Riley Gross and Carter Gross; brother, Lonnie (Sandra) Reger; sister, Connie Schuyler; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lavon “Bonnie” Gross; brothers, Raymond Gross, Berlin Gross and Jerry Reger; sisters, Marsha Reger and Louise Smith.
Services will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow in Carthage Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until time of service. Masonic rites will be provided by Lewisville Masonic Lodge at 1:00 PM. Condolences and memories of Ronald may be shared at www.hinsey-brown.com.
