Ronald “Pops” Lee Tinch, 77, of New Castle passed away Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Hancock Regional Hospital. He was born June 15, 1937 in Lebanon, Ohio, a son of the late Ralph H. and Mary Throckmorton Tinch.
Ron was a 1955 graduate of Franklin High School in Ohio. He retired from Diamond Containers in 1989 after 27 years of service. In his spare time, Pops enjoyed fishing and riding his Goldwing.
Survivors include four children, Rhonda (Scott) Bertram of New Castle; Misty Tinch of Greenfield; Ronald “Fudd” L. (Debbie) Tinch Jr. of Springport and Chris (Robin) Tinch of Spiceland; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a brother, Ralph Harold Tinch of Miamisburg, Ohio; three sisters, Shirley (Kenneth) Wells of New Castle, Judy (Joe) Takach and Vicki Tinch Jackson, both of Ohio; several nieces, nephews and cousins
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sally F. Tinch in 1997 and a brother, Donald R. Tinch.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. There will be a farewell motorcycle ride to South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition following the service. All motorcyclists are encouraged to join in Pops final ride.
