Rose Ann Jones

Rose Ann Jones, 72, of Brownsburg, formerly of New Castle, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2013, at Spring Mill Meadows in Indianapolis. She was born April 20, 1941, in Mt. Summit, a daughter of Edward Clayton Jones and Sadie (Lunsford) Jones Groce.

She retired as a Home Health Aide after several years of service. She had previously been employed as a CNA and QMA. Rose Ann was a member of the Mt. Summit Christian Church. She enjoyed sewing, bowling and attending her grandchildren’s activities.

Survivors include three daughters: Loveda (Steve) Jones of South Bend, Melanie (David) Sims of Brownsburg and Melodie Donovan of Fishers; nine grandchildren: Christine (Zac) Coudret, Allison Jones, Phillip Scrogham, Zach Donovan, Andrew Sims, Casey Donovan, Rebecca Sims, Ryan Sims and Ariane Sims; eight brothers and sisters: Jean Dudley of New Castle, Cheryl Humphrey of Berne, Eddie Jones of Texas, Michael (Jenny) Jones of Wilkinson, Connie (Roger) Caldwell of New Castle, Diane (Mike) Maddy of Iowa, Kevin (Sylvia) Groce of North Carolina, Kelly Groce of New Castle; several nieces and nephews; former husband, Walter Breining of Spiceland.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Rick Scrogham; stepfather, Elwood Groce; and former husband, Harry Scrogham.

Services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at Mt. Summit Christian Church with Reverend Randy Shinolt officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Summit Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 PM Tuesday at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Diabetes Association or Gentiva Hospice with envelopes available at the funeral home.
