Rowena Ritchie

Rowena Ritchie, 71, of Dunreith, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2010 at her residence. She was born January 24, 1939 in Ogden, Indiana the daughter of Wesley Eugene and Viola Alice (Ratliff) Vaughn.

Rowena attended Knightstown Schools and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. She and her husband owned and operated Ritchie’s Garage in Dunreith and Spiceland for many years. She was also employed at Jacquel Manufacturing in Knightstown.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth, whom she married July 27, 1956; three children: Debbie Williams of Connersville, Alan (wife: Angie) Ritchie of New Castle, Chelsie Ritchie of Dunreith; five grandchildren: Josh Williams of Knightstown, Aimee (husband: Mark) Hayworth of Carthage, Kenny (wife: Elizabeth) Ritchie of New Castle, Cameron (wife: Victoria) Ritchie of Milton and Cody Ritchie of New Castle; four great grandchildren; three brothers: Eddie Vaughn of Lakeland, FL, Herschel (wife: Irene) Vaughn of West Warrick, RI, Thomas (wife: Jeannette) Vaughn of Cocoa, FL; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister: Rosella Davis, two brothers: Richard Vaughn and Billy Vaughn.

Services will be at 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 4, 2010 at Liberty Baptist Church in Dunreith with Reverend Tim Dice officiating. Burial will follow in Dunreith Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM prior to the service at the church.
