Roxie Dee Manis

Roxie D. Manis, age 91, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at Henry County Hospital. She was born October 1, 1920 in Byrdstown, Tennessee to the late Tom and Ada (Crokett) Manis.

“Dee”, as she was known, was employed at the New Castle State Hospital for over 30 years. She loved most of all spending time with her nieces, nephews and family. Dee also enjoyed quilting, crocheting and gardening and will be greatly missed by her family and her beloved dog, Rusty.

Survivors include her niece, Marilyn (husband, Keith) Manis Bouslog of Casey, IL; several grand nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Print Manis, Orlan Manis; three sisters, Violet Pierce, Pansy Pierce and Fonza Manis; two step brothers, Millard and Tasso Manis

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 28, 2011 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service with Pastor Keith Bouslog officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery.
