Roy Lee Bolden, 87, of New Castle passed away Monday, June 24, 2024 at Waters Edge Village in Muncie. He was born January 9, 1937 in New Market, Tennessee to the late George and Grace (Wimmer) Bolden.
Roy spent six years serving our Country in the U. S. Air Force. He enjoyed racing, including driving race cars, working on cars and spectating. He was a fan of IU Basketball but mainly loved spending time with his family and friends. Roy attended Open Arms Church.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Wanda (Blackburn) Bolden; children, Sherrie Watson, Rick (Pat) Pierce and Roger (Sandy) Pierce; grandchildren, Wendy (Ryan) Stearns, Jackie Watson, Dustin Watson, Erica (Will) Chennault, Casey Pierce, Brittney (Alan) McCan, Shelby (Austin) Smith and Zach Hines; great grandchildren, Joslyn, Kegan, Corbin, McKenna, Emma, Roxie, Ailish, Zoey, Clarke and Abbi; a sister, Joyce Estell and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Chris Bolden; siblings, Jim and Cecil Bolden and Mary and Gladys and a son-in-law, Kelvin D. Watson.
The family would like to thank the staff of Waters Edge Village for the compassionate care Roy received while there, especially Merry Redwine.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2024 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Paul Davis officiating.
