Ruby Bell

Ruby F. Bell, age 64, of New Castle, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at Ball Memorial Hospital. She was born October 20, 1944 in Monticello, Kentucky to George and Bertie (Lee) Guffey

Ruby retired from ICAP following 30 years of service. She loved her Headstart children and they referred to her as “Mamaw” or “Ms Ruby”. Ruby was a woman of great faith and a strong believer in the Lord.

Survivors include her sons: Gabriel (wife: Belinda) Bell, Herman Bell and Eric Bell all of New Castle; ten grandchildren: Derek, Dustin (companion: Teaha), Darin, Douggie, Brandon, Spencer, Macey, Jarred, and Zander Bell, Kyle Jackson; great granddaughter: Kaelin; two brothers: Donnie (wife: Ruth) Guffey of New Castle and Charlie (wife: Shirley) Guffey of Indianapolis; two sisters: twin sister, Ruth Bowers of New Castle and Barbara (husband: Mike) Canaday of TX; very best friend: Frank Lawton of New Castle; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Frank Bell; sons: Jerry and Rickey Bell; four sisters: Maxine Brown, Nora Smith, Shirley Chriswell and Nancy Griffin; two brothers: Bobby and Jerry Guffey.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 2009 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Eddie Chriswell, Jr. and Reverend Danny Douglas officiating.
