Ruby White Griffin, age 95, of Valparaiso, formerly of New Castle, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at VNA Horton Hospice Center in Valparaiso. She was born September 7, 1913 in New Castle to the late Alfred and Mary Ann (Lakey) House.
She has worked at Newby Paul Motor Company, Henry Township Trustee and Carson Chemical Company as a bookkeeper. She had attended First Nazarene Church and First Christian Church of New Castle and was a 50 year member of Business and Professional Women.
Survivors include her daughter: Ann (husband: Dan) Nellessen of Valparaiso; grandsons: Adam and Drew Nellessen; nieces and nephews: Cara Lou (husband: Wendal) Poore, Fredette Cash, Bud (wife: Lois) House, Fred (wife: Rosealyn) House, Ray Ellen (wife: Darlton) Webb and Jerry (wife: Carla) House.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands: Philip White and Lucien Griffin.
Services will be at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, December 21, 2008 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Leon Davis officiating. Graveside services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday, December 22, 2008 at South Mound Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
