Ruby Ada (Perdue) Massengale, 96, New Castle, Indiana, went home to be with her Lord, on Friday, October 28, 2016, after a short, courageous battle with lung cancer.

Ruby was born on September 22, 1920, in the home of her parents, Cord Perdue and Ada Perdue, in Windy, Kentucky. She married Elmer Bud Massengale, on January 7, 1939. They regularly attended Westview Nazarene Church. Ruby worked for Brooks Foods for many years as the Union Shop Steward. Ruby loved the outdoors and helping make anything grow. She loved her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She passed God’s blessings to everyone she met.

She is survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Tamara Elaine (Carnes) Dalida and her husband Randy, and their children, Hannah Elaine and Sarah Grace, John Carnes, Jr. and his wife Sheila, and their son Charlie, Terry Carnes and his wife Hope, and their son Riley and his wife Ciara, Debbie (Carnes) Sanchez and her children, Joshua and his wife Krista and their children Carson and Zylen, Jessica Sanchez Shania and her husband Trent, and their daughter Ahmiyah; also surviving, is her son-in-law John Carnes, Sr.; many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death are her parents, Cord and Ada Perdue; her husband, Elmer Bud Massengale; her daughter, Joyce Elaine Carnes, and many brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation is Wednesday, November 2, 2016, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hinsey Brown Funeral Service, 3406 Memorial Drive, New Castle, Indiana, 46372. Funeral services are Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to services with Pastor Gene Bennett officiating. Burial will be in South Mound Cemetery, New Castle.
