Ruby L. Rose, age 54, of New Castle, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at Henry County Hospital following a brief illness. She was born March 9, 1955 in West Virginia to Grevil Hagerman and Lurene Mullins of Shipshewana.
Ruby enjoyed activities such as swimming, horseback riding, long walks, and especially reading. She had received her diploma to practice as a private investigator. Ruby was a great wife and friend who would do anything for anybody, she will be deeply missed.
In addition to her mother she is survived by her husband of 17 years: John W. Rose of New Castle; three sisters: Mary Ellen (husband: Chris) Tubbs of Florida; Kathy Hern of Shipshewana, IN and Jolene of Shipshewana, IN; one brother: Grevil "Gene" (wife: Doris) Hagerman of North Carolina; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father: Grevil Hagerman and her step-father: Preston Mullins.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2009 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery West Lawn Addition. Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, June 28, 2009 at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.hinsey-brown.com .
