Rupert Alexander

Rupert Michael Alexander, age 93, of New Castle, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2009 at Hickory Creek at New Castle. He was born August 9, 1915 in Raysville, Indiana to the late Cromwell and Ina Bell (McCorkle) Alexander.

He had worked at Chrysler Corporation and at Allison as part of a special assignment division during the acceleration of World War II. He owned and operated the Chili Bowl and Ramrod Gun and Knife Shop in New Castle and retired in 1972 to pursue his passion for golf. He was an avid collector of guns, coins and watches and donated some of his most prized collections to the New Castle Museum.

Survivors include a son: Steve (wife: Linda) Alexander of Levering, MI; a daughter: Becky (husband: David) Beeson of Garland, TX; six grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Ruth Louise Alexander; his brother and sister.

There will be no public visitation and graveside services will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Online condolences may be made at www.hinsey-brown.com .
