Ruth Caudill, 85 of Dunreith, died Monday, April 20, 2020 at Stonebrooke Rehabilitation Center in New Castle.
Ruth was born Ruth Raabe April 4, 1935 in Konigsberg, which was Germany at that time. During WWII, she and her family moved to Forbach-Moselle, France. After graduation, she moved to Bad Kreuzach, Germany where she worked for several years prior to meeting Chalmer Caudill. He was in the Army and stationed near Landratsamt, Germany. Chalmer transferred to New Mexico in 1958. Ruth followed him to the United States and Chalmer and Ruth were married in Alamogordo, NM, that same year. Ruth was a kind and loving wife and mother.
Ruth is survived by her step-son, Chalmer T. (Ty) Caudill and his wife Dorothy (Dolly) of Nevada; three grandchildren, Roxanne, Ashleigh and Shane, as well as eight great grandchildren, Justice, Elijah and Ryker Caudill, Rowin and Merrick Hodges and Metra and Layla Nahreini; brother-in-law, Leonard Caudill of South Carolina; sisters-in-law, Ruth Williams of Dunreith and Beulah (Juel) Shepherd of Knightstown.
Ruth was proceeded in death by her husband of 49 years, Chalmer Caudill and son John, Charles Caudill.
A private graveside ceremony will be held at Glen Cove Cemetery, respecting the present COVID-19 concerns. The family intends a Celebration of Life ceremony to be held a later date.
